Aim-
After my success of my shoot 3 of creepy atmosphere, my aim for this shoot is to continue to manipulate coloured lighting like I did in last shoot. I also intend to use a different subject than I have in my last two shoots. I think the main elements of colour and editing are important for the creepy element to be black. I hope to use really dark colours on my subjects makeup and make the lighting either normal or red- symbolizing blood and death- forming that creepy atmosphere for the viewer.
This is a photo I really like from this shoot:
I really like this image because my subject looks really distant and even dead. This is good because if it was in a horror film, the subject may then quickly turn making the audience jump. This creates questions for the viewer. I also like how the colour of the lighting works with the colour of her makeup. Even though you have to focus on it, certain parts of her lips are much darker red than the other parts, I wanted this because it was almost as if it was blood coming out of her mouth. Also I believe the red works with the darkness of the eyes.
This a photo I don't really like from this shoot:
This was a test photo. I don't like this image at all because I believe as I took it quickly out of the blue the atmosphere isn't as clear as I hope to in all of my shoots. Another aspect I don't like in this image is that the background isn't solid, there is a corner of a wall and there is also the sofa behind her. As best as possible, I hope for my images to have plain backgrounds because I believe this ruins the atmosphere which I aim to produce.
Progression:
I really liked creating this shoot again and believe it worked really well. This shows how manipulating my lighting is a very good aspects alongside the makeup for creating the creepiness aspect. To continue my work I hope to explore group photos in showing creepiness. I also think it would be a good idea to start thinking about the outfits my subject wears because this can also hold connotations in making an atmosphere or mood.
