Connecting essay 4

This photo captures depression because it shows all the names that people must have called her. All the names which have been filling her head. The pain from the subject is displayed from the distant glance of the subject. Also the fact on her hand she wrote stop shows that she doesn't like it and is fed up with it. This is an important statement because it suggests she doesn't speak of her pain, it builds up in her.
This is a photo I took. I edited it to be black and white because I found this was a better way in showing depression, its dark and hopeless. I decided to write looks of different things on my mirror that are used to offend people. I also used a vignette because this forms a connotation of having a narrow view, she is being stuck. I made it so I was the subject because was in between the words, showing the words all around my head, as if they are floating around.
Both these images show words around a subject. They both are in black and white. They both also show the mood of depression and the pain that people suffer without letting anyone know. These words are written and not spoken, suggesting these people who suffer with depression are always shut down and the more words they are told, the further down the feel they are being pushed.
