Shoot 4- Isolation work record

Date-  Saturday 12th March 2016
Aim-
For this shoot I aim to continue looking at the mood/ atmosphere of isolation by manipulating the light. I also want to do this in a more relaxed setting in comparison to a studio shoot (my shoot 2).  Another thing I aim to do is focusing on the mood my varying the way my subject sits- for example place her in bed, put her sat up in a blanket.

This is a photo I really like from this shoot:
I really like the rule of thirds aspect of this image because she is place to the left slightly. I also cut of half her shadow because I thought this would be a good idea to show isolation, even her shadow isn't with her. Notwithstanding this, I had a play with a desk lamp and put coloured gels over it to change to colour. For this whole shoot I used a blue gel because I believed this to be the best colour to symbolize isolation and being sad. I also like how my subjects eyes are placed perfectly on my camera, even though there is a fixed gaze with my subject, she still appears to be distant and full of thought.

This is a photo I don't really like from this shoot:
I really like the concept of this image- blocking her self away by reading, although I believe this isn't one of my strongest images as the motion blur ruins it as the writing on the book isn't clear. Also the whole angle of the image doesn't work for me and therefore believe I should change my angles. Another reason I don't like this image is because I believe it is too crammed together.

Progression:
I believe the way I manipulated the colour of lighting worked really work and I intend to use this method again. Another way I would like to progress is to map out or keep in mind using different angles.
