Shoot 3- Creepy Work Record

Date- Thursday 3rd March 2016
Aim.
My aim for this shoot is to portray a creepy or eerie atmosphere through the use of a subject, focusing on the makeup artist side of things. I will position my subject specifically in order to create this atmosphere- for example, put her under a bed- the creepy boggy man children are scared of. But more importantly, my main aim is for people to look at my photos and think "Wow that's creepy"

As a fan of horror films, I was really looking forward to this shoot having so man ideas- again which I plan before hand all on my phone. I was able to take images of a friend who does creepy makeup so I was in luck.

This is an image I really like:
The reason I like this image is because it is a stereotypical "boggy" man hiding under your bed. I also like the contrast, the bed appears for a younger person- it is white with a mental flower on suggesting an innocence, yet this subject is very creepy and almost deadly- definitely not innocent. I also like the use of depth of field used here because there is a slight blur of my subject, she isn't in total focus and is almost going disappearing into the darkness. The makeup is another aspect to which I like because her head is tilted down a bit showing the black veiny lines under her eyes suggesting an eerie feel.

This is an image I don't really like:
Even though this image creates a creepy atmosphere, I don't like it because I used an artificial light (the camera flash) and it white out her face- removing the dominate makeup. Also The motion blur on here isn't that great. Unlike my other images taken in this scene (shown on my straight images) this didn't work.

Progression:
I really like the creativeness of this shoot and really enjoyed producing these images because it was different to other things I have produced before, this has become my favorite way of shooting. Therefore, to continue my work, I would like to re do creepy shoots and explore other ways to bend my creative skills.
