Lauren Komos
This series of images were for Lauren Komo's photography work which was inspired by Ken Josephson work. Her work was to represent heartbreak and loss. The reason for her to produce these images was to evoke a strong sense of nostalgia and emotion longing in the viewer
This first image conveys a heart break/ lost love. The denotation of someone standing there with a photo being held next to them, creates a powerful connotation suggesting this love has been lost and is now being morned. I really like this as it creates that vibe of nostalgia.

This image creates an emotion/ atmosphere of loss. Just because the denotation is a photo of a necklace covering a persons neck, it forms a story, perhaps this necklace was given to her from some she deeply loved/ cared for but has lost it. Or she may have lost the necklace it's self.
This is an image which again presents nostalgia. With it all in black and white, it's hard to tell whether the photo held is a recent one or not. Yet the connotation holding a story suggests this was a summer love when they were really happy in their relationship, yet as they are holding the image where it was taken it suggests they are "Taking a trip down memory lane", missing how it was.

This final image holds the male gaze because it is the photo held which is in more focus than the rest of it. This is because it shows what people tend to focus on, rather than whats important- her as a whole.
